Northeast Nebraska Network Consortium (NNNC) is seeking applicants to fill the opening of NNNC Technology Analyst. NNNC is a consortium of ESUs 1, 2, 7, 8 and 17. This full time non-remote position supports the technology staff with special projects in each of those ESUs. Some travel is required. Experience with Fortinet, Dmarcian, Active Directory Federated Services, Advanced TCP/IP Networking, and Cybersecurity best practices is preferred.

REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB TASKS:

  1. Design, implement, and maintain Single Sign-On systems for member ESUs and school districts.
  2. Monitor, research, and make network security suggestions as necessary for member ESUs and school districts.
  3. Facilitate group purchases on technical products for the NNNC.
  4. Assist and troubleshoot member ESUs with network and server projects as requested.
  5. Develop partnerships with ESU NOC personnel both inside the NNNC and statewide, NNNC school district LAN Managers, businesses, communities, and other organizations to help meet identified technology needs.
  6. Provide leadership for short and long-range planning for all NNNC technology initiatives: vision, goals, program objectives/strategies/activities, infrastructure, training, budgeting, and collaboration with others.
  7. Serves as a clearinghouse of information on trends, research, applications, and effective practices related to the use of technology in the school educational system across all NNNC ESUs
  8. Is knowledgeable of the hardware configurations and computer-related items within the NNNC region.
  9. Designs, coordinates installation and troubleshoots malfunctions of the network hardware and/or software applications within the NNNC for the purpose of resolving operational issues and restoring services.
  10. Attend and participate in ESU Network Operations Committee (NOC) and NNNC LAN Manager meetings as requested.
  11. Ensure technology resource selections are consistent with curricular and instructional demands.
  12. Maintain open lines of communication and cooperative working relationships with other government agencies.  When appropriate, attend meetings of other government agencies to advance the interest of NNNC.
  13. Keep current with technology trends by attending conferences and other professional development activities.
  14.  Other responsibilities as assigned.

TECHNOLOGY EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Comprehensive knowledge of computers and related technologies as they apply to K-12 education.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure requirements and components of local and wide area networks, Internet, intranets, and distributed learning.
  3. Experience in implementing effective and innovative software and hardware methodologies.
  4. Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  5. Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and other computer hardware and software, including applications and basic programming/ scripting.
  6. Operating Systems – Knowledge of Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux/UNIX client/server network operating systems administration and current trends.
  7. Telecommunications / Networking- Knowledge of transmission, routing, switching, control, and operation of wired, wireless, PBX or VoIP telecommunications systems along with a thorough understanding of the OSI model, networking protocols within, and TCP/IP subnetting.
  8. Network Security – Knowledge of firewalls, filtering, unified threat management appliances, and other network identity theft protection measures and current trends.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Inside offices and throughout the NNNC region and district buildings.
  2. Primary work areas are air-conditioned, but may travel to non-air conditioned buildings subject to extremes of temperature and humidity.
